Engine Update!

Yo! We've been hard at work with the new update!
Unfortunately progress was slowed due to sickness but it's still going!
This is a small update that changes things over to the new shader and new structure of the project. Which doesn't do a lot for you; the player. But we've added some neat stuff for you guys! First thank you to SoundsBeard for their Godot head model used for the logo here!

New Shaders!
The aim was to not make the game look too different, the previous shaders were just causing a lot of issues with the project. This was a large undertaking since all the materials in the game had to be redone.

I also fixed a shadow issue so they're no longer super pixelated. And overall lighting has been looking better! This may hurt some performance for lower end devices; but there'll be an options menu to fix this down the road.

New Structure?
So this is really just back-end stuff that you guys as the players will never need to worry about. But this does allow us to create the game more effectively.

Essentially the way the files were organized wasn't great. So it was touched up and now it looks a lot better! Overall the bigger a game gets the more cluttered it becomes but with a level of organization it'll still be navigable.

New Music!
While this cuts down on what'll be in the next big update; but why not send out a hotfix with something nice?! Our musician Evan dropped some new tunes into the game as well as new transitions between songs to make things more smooth!

World Generator!?
Yeah the original world was assembled by hand which isn't ideal. Now the world is made with some nice code!

This will make a lot of things easier moving forward

Removable Trees!
Now you can edit tiles by removing objects like trees from them! This costs a small price but works well and it was a feature that was meant to be in the jam update but didn't make it in time. So here it is in this mid-update update!

Engine Time Fix
You'll notice in the former versions of the game the animations and movement of the camera speed up with the time settings. This isn't something that we wanted to happen but that has now been fixed! All movement and interface animations will move at the proper speed.

Bugs & Tweaks
There's always minor stuff that gets done in between bigger goals. Here's some of those minor details that make a big difference.

The Day Cycle had to get changed to work more accurately and a few bugs with that were squashed!

Skeleton Minions give only 1 coin versus 5. There's more enemies coming so having the grunt of grunts be giving out 1/4 of the archer tower coin is a bit wild.

Archers however have been slowed down, their damage slightly reduced; and they now cost 40 coin instead of just 20. Tower building should be something you have to think about and carefully constructed. Currently the scale of costs leave you with a lot of excess.

More is on the Way!
This is a bit of new stuff in the game and I feel like there's a little too much just for this minor update; I don't want to detract from the big update. But the full update is going to still be pretty big! It is taking a while because of the scope of all the changes and the groundwork being laid down for future updates.

But we are working on it :)
